Pierre & Rebecca Gouttenoire, a couple in life and for business, both with 25+ yrs experience with wine.
Rebecca, originally from Denmark, discovered her love for wine in Italy, where she and Pierre first crossed paths (during a wine tour!)
Meanwhile, Pierre, a seasoned winemaker from Bordeaux, and Master of Wine student, imparted his knowledge and leadership skills, and together the couple grew the family and company goals.
Through GRAPE TOURS they take immense pride in guiding guests to the finest wineries, always incorporating an educational aspect. The aim is to create a new understanding and strong connection with the region and it's agricultural products.
At FORMAGGIOTECA TERROIR in Florence this connection with the territory and the producers of excellent cheeses and wines in showcased at their small cheese & wine bar. Here visitors can enjoy a cheeseplate and a glass of wine, or take home some of the excellent produce that lines the shelves.
Finally, there's CAMPO SASSO, the family farmhouse where the ageing of cheese for the shop, immersed in olive groves and vineyards, is a holiday home for guests to retreat at, and take in the serene Tuscan countryside and clean air
Grape Tours
Grape Tours is our tour company with which you can explore the Tuscan wine regions with roundtrip from Florence.
We organize 9 different small group tours to allow visitors to explore plenty of Tuscany’s different vineyards and wineries.
Guests get a chance to learn about the winemaking process, tasting local wines, and enjoy the picturesque countryside.
All our tours are guided by our funloving team of Grape guides, and the tours are kept small and personal with a maximum of 8 participants in each group.
We also offer private group tours, and multiple day "Grapetrotters" trips every year to different regions in Italy and France.
Formaggioteca Terroir
Formaggioteca Terroir is a cheese shop and tasting venue in central Florence, on the "cool" Oltrarno side of the Arno River.
The selection naturally features many Italian cheeses, including some of the best Tuscan region has to offer.
But due to Pierre's origins in the area of Roquefort in France where he grew up amongst cheesemakers, the French selection is also impressive.
“Terroir” refers to environmental factors, such as soil and climate, that contribute to the unique qualities of food and wine in a given region, and the human factor for the traditions and the knowledge that only local farmers have for their land.
Formaggioteca Terroir brings attention to these origins for tcheeses, but also for the wines, and all the other carefully selected products you'll find on the shelves and in the menu, enhancing the gastronomic experience that is central to the lifestyle in Italy.
Campo Sasso
Campo Sasso is a charming farmhouse in Tuscany from the "mezzadria" years and who shaped farming long before the land became famous for wines.
It's inside the splendid black rooster Chianti Classico region and sits amongst olive groves and vineyards in the most peaceful natural Tuscan landscape, just a half hour from Florence.
Excellent olive oil and wine hails from this valley (and is shipped to customers around the World), and the cheese cellar is where Pierre skillfully ages the cheeses sold at Formaggioteca in Florence.
The villa is rented out as a holiday home for short stays of 5-6 days for a max of 6 people, as an ideal base for their Tuscan explorations.
